Moneymaker at Walgreens

Boxes of Splenda  with 100 count packets are sale at Walgreens for $2.99 with a RR of $4 if you buy three. I bought three and used three $3 off coupons on the transaction. Since the sale price was less than the coupon, they made me buy something else, so I added the Stayfree pads on sale for $2.99 with a $3 RR back. I wish I had had a Stayfree coupon with me, but I had left them at home. See I told you I am not exactly a coupon Ninja-DOH!

More Charitable items at CVS

I am challenging myself to build back up my funds for purchasing charity items, items for my parents and my family with my $30 for the year budget. The budget was sadly depleted down to a negative balance, but I am on my way back! WhooooHooooooo!
At CVS Air Wick products were buy $20 worth and get back $10 ECB. I bought two AirWick freshmatic kits and two AirWick Freshmatic refills. The kits were on sale for $6 each and the refills were $5 each. I spent $22.
I used 2 coupons for $4 off on the kits and one bogof coupon on the refills for a total of $13 off. I paid $7 and got a $10 off  ECB. I also bought some bubbles for my kids that were $1.99 with a $1.99 ECB back.
Paying the tax of $2.34 on the items, my total came to $4.83 because I used $8.50 worth of ECB from a previous transaction. To further confuse myself and make the transaction as confusing as possible I got $20 cash back. Doh! I should not do this on future transactions, as this mental math midget is challenged enough already!

Total spent was $13.33 and I got back $11.99 in ECB. Out of pocket was $1.34
YTD to spend is $2.84

More free items for charity from Rite Aid!

I was more excited about this transaction than I have been in awhile about other purchases. I think knowing that it is going to a senior citizen in need is a wonderful motivator for me to try even harder to find good deals:)

Rite Aid had their Tena pads on sale for $9.99 with an Single Check rebate amount of $9.99. You are allowed to do the transaction twice. In addition, I had two coupons for $2.50 off each pack of pads. Unfortunately, I did the transactions before I remembered the coupons, so I went back in the store. The manager was very nice and rather than redo the purchase, he just looked at my coupons and then gave me $5 in cash back, which is why the coupons don't show on my receipt.

Total spent on each transaction was $10.91, less a $9.99 rebate and a $2.50 coupon. I did this transaction twice. The result was that on the two transactions I actually made money; $1.58 on each for a total of $3.16
YTD to spend is $4.18
I received products worth $25.98
YTD savings is $599.22
